Eden-Avalon's Playlist

This OLD person has been rather busy. College, two jobs and a boyfriend can do that. But none of that suggests that I have forgotten Decay! Which is why I bring you a rotation of 7 songs heralding the return of (what I hope will be) regular updates from me. :3 Comments sure would help in encouraging me to keep to that resolution!

Song:Baby Baby
Artist: Big Bang
Language: English
Rating: 7/10 | Length: 3:53 | Size: 3.57 MB
Album: With U

So this is the English version of Last Farewell, released on Big Bang's With U album. I actually prefer this version to the other versions out there although it doesn't seem to fit the PV as well. The song is produced extremely well, the english lyrics fitting perfectly into the original composition's music. It brings back Backstreet Boy memories, but in the best of ways - it has just enough edge to make me unashamed of having it in my music collection.
Song:Daibakuhatsu No. 1
Artist: Zone
Language: Japanese
Rating: 7/10 | Length: 4:02 | Size: 5.59 MB

This song is included for Cammy's sake as she recently mentioned to me that she wanted to listen to this peppy little number. From the way the introduction starts out (light, airy) you don't imagine it will have nearly as much spirit as it does. It's a catchy, pop-rock hybrid with typical girl-band vocals that is a great random listen.
Song:Gloria
Artist: Yui
Language: Japanese
Rating: 8/10 | Length: 3:41 | Size: 3.40 MB
Album: GLORIA

Now this isn't my favorite Release of Yui's so far but there is a reason that it has been so highly anticipated. Her voice is, as always, beautiful with just enough girl-next-door quality to not be intimidating. The chorus is what really gets me - it makes one just want to sing along. I love the encouraging and upbeat nature of it and hopefully you will too.
Song:Hatsukoi
Artist: Masaharu Fukuyama
Language: Japanese
Rating: 8/10 | Length: 5:12 | Size: 4.77 MB
Album: Hatsukoi
DOWNLOAD //
Hatsukoi has been rapidly climbing the Oricon and i've been pleasantly surprised by that fact. It's definitely not in the genre of the upbeat, pop-electronica mixes that have been currently dominated. Masaharu-san's vocals remind me strongly of old-school Gackt but the real standout to me was the elegant orchestral and guitar backing music. Don't get me wrong I still prefer this to the isntrumental version, for some reason the combination of the forlorn voice and the longing music blend beautifully.
Song:Lollipop
Artist: 2NE1 Feat. Big Bang
Language: Korean
Rating: 9/10 | Length: 3:08 | Size: 4.63MB
Album:Lollipop

Oh the shame! The horrible shame of even having this song anywhere near me! With that expressed, what's not to love about this song? The vocals are impressive from both 2NE1's side and (duh) Big Bang's. The music has an interesting mix of hip-hop beat and dance groove (think fun synth music!). I think they did a great job of pairing the girls and guys into vocal transitions, everything is exactly where it needs to be.
Song:Time To Love 2
Artist: T-ara Feat. Supernova
Language: Korean
Rating: 10/10 | Length:3:10 | Size: 1.42 MB
Album: TTL2
DOWNLOAD //
The original Time To Love was a favorite song of me and when I became aware of the existance of the Second Listen version I immediately decided to put it into rotation. T-ara and Supernova's is another great artist collaboration in which the men and women are paired beautifully. In fact, i'd reccomend listening to them one after the other - they're great for a dancing mood!
Song:Without Saying (Without Words)
Artist: Park Shin Hye
Language: Korean
Rating: 10/10 | Length: 4:06 | Size: 3.94 MB
Album:You're Beautiful OST
DOWNLOAD //
Without Saying (ie: Without Words) was my favorite song of the k-drama, You're Beautiful (She's Beautiful/He's Beautiful) and I actually preferred Park Shin Hye's version to that of the men. Something about a woman being left behind without a word speaks to me! It's lovely, the vocals are strong where they need to be and delicate in the opposings situation. My one gripe with this song is the artificial drum-background, it's a monotonous and somewhat overused beat. That aside, this would be my MUST DOWNLOAD of the rotation!
